Galamsey Menace: GRASAG to Join Catholic Bishops in Protest Against Galamsey on October 11

The Graduate Students' Association of Ghana (GRASAG) has announced its intention to join forces with the Ghana Catholic Bishops' Conference in a nationwide protest against illegal mining activities, commonly known as galamsey, and what they describe as worsening governance in the country. The protest, scheduled for October 11, 2024, is expected to draw significant attention to the environmental degradation caused by galamsey and the perceived lapses in leadership in addressing the issue. The Catholic Bishops have been vocal in their criticisms of illegal mining, which has devastated large portions of Ghana’s forests, farmlands, and water bodies. They argue that despite various government initiatives to combat galamsey, the issue persists, posing a serious threat to the environment and livelihoods across the country. A 20-year-old male female crossdresser lynched by unknown assailants in the Upper East

A 20-year-old man who dresses like a female has been lynched by unknown assailants, Degeniuz Blog reports. According to Bolgatanga-based A1 radio, the young man from Zanlerigu in Nabdam district of the Upper East Region was found at the regional hospital morgue several weeks after he went missing. Assemblyman for the Zanlerigu-Dagliga electoral area, Maxwell‎ Divom who spoke to A1 Radio said “On the 3rd of January, it was reported at his father’s house that he was missing. So, we were looking for him, and later, on the 10th day of January, we heard that someone was allegedly killed at Kongo Nag-boug and so, the uncles went to the morgue to see the body and it was identified that it was him [Bugbil Roger Adaboo Toure].” He indicated that when the body was found in Kongo in the Upper East Region, there were huge stones found around it; an indication that he was stoned to death by some persons. “When the body was found, he was wearing a mini skirt and brassiere which portrayed a lady. Just In: Prince Tagoe Granted Bail Of GHc100,000.00

Prince Tagoe, Former Black Stars Player The Accra Circuit Court trying Prince Tagoe, a former Black Stars’ player for an alleged fraud, has granted him a GHc100,000.00 bail with three sureties, one of whom should be a civil servant. The Court presided over by Mr Samuel Bright Acquah ordered that one of the sureties could be justified with a landed property.  The former player has paid GHC129,000.00 out of the USD 40,000, which is equivalent to GHC265,200.00 on the charge of defrauding by false pretence.  A former footballer, Mr George Antwi Boateng, is the complainant. Tagoe has denied the offence. Detective Chief Inspector Agartha Abena Asantewaa earlier informed the Court that Mr Antwi Boateng, also a former Ghanaian footballer, was based in Germany.
