Election: (CSD-Ghana) Backs The NDC’s “Enough is Enough” Protest In Demand For A Credible Voters’Register

The CSD-Ghana believes strongly that the foundation of any free and fair election is a credible register and as such, any effort towards having a credible Voters’ Register must be supported by all democracy lovers. The Electoral Commission has admitted to many errors in the Electoral Roll, as pointed out by the NDC, but has failed to allow for an independent forensic audit into the same. The EC, for example, has admitted that there were illegal vote transfers in Sagnerigu, Pusiga and Tamale South by an Electoral Commission Official in Tamale South. According to the EC, these illegal transfers went through because there was no “liveness check” mechanism in place to prevent such situations.  The NDC says the situation is widespread so there must be an audit. This is a fair and reasonable call to make, but the EC has remained intransigent. CSD-Ghana stands ready to fully participate in this protest and asks other democracy lovers to join us to mount enough pressure on the Electoral Commis

The Electoral Commission (EC) of Ghana has confidently declared that the 2024 Voters’ Register is both robust and credible, urging citizens to disregard claims suggesting otherwise. In an X post on Wednesday, the Commission emphasised the integrity and reliability of the Voters’ Register, assuring the public that it is fully prepared for the upcoming 2024 Elections. This follows claims by the main opposition party, the National Democratic Congress (NDC) that the register has discrepancies that must be corrected ahead of the elections. NDC flagbearer, John Dramani Mahama has also asked the EC to sit up and do its work properly. Hon. Patrick Kumor, Former Weija-Gbawe MCE Passes On

The former Municipal Chief Executive Officer of Weija-Gbawe, Patrick Kumor, has reportedly passed away. His death followed a brief illness. He was among the 25 MCEs whose appointments were recently rescinded by President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo. Mr. Michael Danquah succeeded Mr. Kumor in his position. During his tenure, Mr. Kumor initiated numerous projects within the Municipality. In December 2022, Mr Kumor was awarded the UCIA 2022 Dynamic Achievers Award for Excellence in Leadership. The award was presented to Hon. Kumor (MCE) at the British Council Hall by the Global Executive College (GEC). The news of Kumor’s passing has been met with a deep sense of loss within the community. He was known for his dedication to the development of the Weija-Gbawe Municipality and his efforts to improve the lives of its residents. Former Minister of Monitoring and Evaluation Dr Anthony Akoto Osei has died, Degeniuz Blog has gathered. Dr Akoto Osei died on Monday, March 20 after a short illness. Until his death, the deceased politician was a member of the New Patriotic Party (NPP). He had served the people of Old Tafo Pankrono as their Member of Parliament (MP) until 2020. He served as the Ranking Member of Finance from 2009 to 2013. He was appointed Minister of Monitoring and Evaluation in 2017 when the NPP regained power.

Bawumia Is Involved In The Bawku Dispute : Former Binduri Mp

Dr. Robert Kuganab-Lem, a former Member of Parliament (MP) for the Binduri Constituency in the Upper East Region, has claimed that Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia is involved in the Bawku conflict. The MP claims that the Vice President has stood by unconcernedly as the Overlord of the Mamprugu Kingdom, Nayiri, Naa Bohugu Mahama Abdulai II, has enskinned Bawku Naba, whom he refers to as an   “imposter”   when he already in office. Election 2024: UT Bank Prince Kofi Amoabeng Endorses NDC

Businessman and Co-Founder of now defunct UT Bank Prince Kofi Amoabeng has endorsed the opposition National Democratic Congress as the only viable option to take over government after 2024 elections. The rerir military officer said though he voted for the governing New Patriotic Party in previous elections, he has resolved to vote for the NDC in the next election.
