The Graduate Students' Association of Ghana (GRASAG) has announced its intention to join forces with the Ghana Catholic Bishops' Conference in a nationwide protest against illegal mining activities, commonly known as galamsey, and what they describe as worsening governance in the country. They argue that despite various government initiatives to combat galamsey, the issue persists, posing a serious threat to the environment and livelihoods across the country. GRASAG, representing the voices of Ghana’s graduate students, has expressed concerns about the future of the nation, particularly in the areas of environmental cons

BREAKING NEWS: Sports: Qatar's Dream Turns To Nightmare

Image
Inner Valencia, the goal scorer in middle After the controversies and conjecture, a football was finally kicked in the Qatar World Cup, 12 years on from being named as hosts. A day that began with real excitement with the opening ceremony, Qatar's dream turned into a nightmare as they became the first hosts in the competition's history to lose their opening game. The Asian champions, a tournament they won back in 2019, offered no threat in the final third and were unable to test Ecuador goalkeeper Hernan Galindez once. South Africa have been the only hosts not to make it out of the group in 2010, but Qatar could follow as the second with two difficult games left to play. Ecuador, meanwhile, have set themselves up in a superb position to progress, extending their excellent recent form to one defeat in 16 games and keeping a clean sheet in their last seven. They were clearly the better side and had the ball in the back of the net after 160 seconds, but Valencia's close rang

Former President, John Dramani Mahama, has asserted that the current economic hardship in Ghana has taken a toll on offerings to God.  According to him, followers of Christ are unable to give huge offerings in church due to the economic hardship, which has affected the pockets of Ghanaians.  He was speaking at the 175th anniversary thanksgiving service of the Evangelical Presbyterian Church in Ho.  “We must always spread Christian love, especially in this time, when money doesn’t like noise. Especially in this time when we all agree that times are hard. This is the time we must show our Christian charity by loving our neighbours as ourselves. And so whatever little you have to share, you should share with your neighbour. I mean we could tell the hardship in the system from the appeal for funds. When it was 2000, madam chair and a few people came and donated, then it came down to 1000, then to 500, then to 200 and 100. And when it got to the silver collection, 1 Cedi, 2 Cedis, the plac
