Election: (CSD-Ghana) Backs The NDC’s “Enough is Enough” Protest In Demand For A Credible Voters’Register

The CSD-Ghana believes strongly that the foundation of any free and fair election is a credible register and as such, any effort towards having a credible Voters’ Register must be supported by all democracy lovers. The Electoral Commission has admitted to many errors in the Electoral Roll, as pointed out by the NDC, but has failed to allow for an independent forensic audit into the same. The EC, for example, has admitted that there were illegal vote transfers in Sagnerigu, Pusiga and Tamale South by an Electoral Commission Official in Tamale South. According to the EC, these illegal transfers went through because there was no “liveness check” mechanism in place to prevent such situations.  The NDC says the situation is widespread so there must be an audit. This is a fair and reasonable call to make, but the EC has remained intransigent. CSD-Ghana stands ready to fully participate in this protest and asks other democracy lovers to join us to mount enough pressure on the Electoral Commis

Just In : Asantehene Otumfuo To Pay A Royal Visit To The Ga State

The Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II is expected to visit the Ga State on Sunday, June 9, 2024. The visit will be rounded off with a special durbar to be hosted by the Ga Mantse, King Tackie Teiko Tsuru II at the forecourt of his palace. The Asantehene’s upcoming visit comes on the back of the Ga Mantse’s attendance to 25th-anniversary celebration of the former’s 25th anniversary celebration of his ascension to the throne, and also his 74th birthday celebration. A senior member of the planning committee, Nii Boye Abbey gave the details of the event at a press conference. “The Office of the Ga Mantse King Tackie Teiko Tsuru II and the Ga traditional council wish to announce the special visit of the Asantehene Otumfuo Osei Tutu II to the Ga State on Sunday, June 9, 2024. “The visit will be crowned with a special durbar hosted by King Tackie Teiko Tsuru II the Ga Mantse. It is a historic visit and it will rekindle the strong ties of friendship between the Gas and the Ashantis.”

Freemasons from far and wide gathered in Kumasi to honour Most Worshipful Bro Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, Grand Patron of the Grand Lodge of Ghana, on two significant milestones: his 25th anniversary on the Golden Stool and in Freemasonry. The celebration took place at the Bro Otumfuo Sir Agyemang Prempeh II Masonic Hall on May 25, 2024. The ceremony was attended by brethren from various grand lodges /G\, including the Grand Lodge of Liberia, led by MWB Anthony W. Deline, United Grand Lodge of England, represented by Most Worshipful Bro Charles William Stanley-Pierre and Grand Master designate of the Grand Lodge in Nigeria, High Chief Osiobe Eric Okotie. Otumfuo Restores Land Forcefully Taken From Woman By Amakomhene

The Asantehene Otumfuo Osei Tutu II has bemoaned the bellicosity with which some traditional leaders in Kumasi are forcefully snatching lands from its owners over expired lease with impunity. .
