The Graduate Students' Association of Ghana (GRASAG) has announced its intention to join forces with the Ghana Catholic Bishops' Conference in a nationwide protest against illegal mining activities, commonly known as galamsey, and what they describe as worsening governance in the country. The protest, scheduled for October 11, 2024, is expected to draw significant attention to the environmental degradation caused by galamsey and the perceived lapses in leadership in addressing the issue. The Catholic Bishops have been vocal in their criticisms of illegal mining, which has devastated large portions of Ghana’s forests, farmlands, and water bodies. They argue that despite various government initiatives to combat galamsey, the issue persists, posing a serious threat to the environment and livelihoods across the country. Former Prez. Kuffour's Dispatch Rider Dies In An Accident When Leading Shatta Wale's Convoy

Shatta Wale is currently in the Upper East Region for a promotional gig for an alcoholic brand. But before he arrived in the region, his convoy got involved in an accident leading to the death of the policeman who is said to be in his early 30’s. The incident happened on the Tamale-Bolgatanga Highway while the musician’s convoy was travelling to Bolgatanga for a promotional event for an alcoholic beverage. The deceased officer, a motorcycle rider for former president John Kufour, was reportedly leading the convoy when he was involved in an accident on the highway with another car. The dispatch rider is reported to be one Sergeant Frempah, who studied the Law of Evidence, Criminal Procedure, and Police Ethics at the National Police Training School, who was killed in the impact. Witnesses recount a horrifying scene in which the officer was flung from his motorcycle as soon as it crashed.

Freemasons from far and wide gathered in Kumasi to honour Most Worshipful Bro Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, Grand Patron of the Grand Lodge of Ghana, on two significant milestones: his 25th anniversary on the Golden Stool and in Freemasonry. The celebration took place at the Bro Otumfuo Sir Agyemang Prempeh II Masonic Hall on May 25, 2024. The ceremony was attended by brethren from various grand lodges /G\, including the Grand Lodge of Liberia, led by MWB Anthony W. Deline, United Grand Lodge of England, represented by Most Worshipful Bro Charles William Stanley-Pierre and Grand Master designate of the Grand Lodge in Nigeria, High Chief Osiobe Eric Okotie.
