Akufo-Addo the president of Ghana has extends Auditor-General’s appointment
Auditor-General Johnson Akuamoah Asiedu will spend two more years in office as his contract has been extended by President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo.
Mr. Asiedu was due for statutory retirement on August 1, 2024.
A notice dated June 19 from the Audit Service congratulated Mr. Asiedu on the extension.
“I wish to bring to the information of all staff that His Excellency the President of the Republic of Ghana, has extended the tenure of the office of the Auditor General, Mr. Johnson Akuamoah Asiedu for the next two years,” the notice read.

Breaking News: A Military Man Shot Dead At Kasoa Over Alleged Land Dispute
A military officer in his late 30s was shot dead in Millennium City during a land dispute, while two other officers narrowly escaped death. The incident occurred near the Millennium City District Police Command at Kasoa in the Central region of Ghana. According to reports, the brother of one of the military officers had purchased land from a landowner identified as Winnebo Ndego. However, a group led by one Fiifi consistently prevented them from developing the land. On the evening of April 30, 2024, the deceased officer and two fellow military officers, in uniform, went to the land to assess the situation. They found another group working on the property.
