Election: (CSD-Ghana) Backs The NDC’s “Enough is Enough” Protest In Demand For A Credible Voters’Register

The CSD-Ghana believes strongly that the foundation of any free and fair election is a credible register and as such, any effort towards having a credible Voters’ Register must be supported by all democracy lovers. The Electoral Commission has admitted to many errors in the Electoral Roll, as pointed out by the NDC, but has failed to allow for an independent forensic audit into the same. The EC, for example, has admitted that there were illegal vote transfers in Sagnerigu, Pusiga and Tamale South by an Electoral Commission Official in Tamale South. According to the EC, these illegal transfers went through because there was no “liveness check” mechanism in place to prevent such situations.  The NDC says the situation is widespread so there must be an audit. This is a fair and reasonable call to make, but the EC has remained intransigent. CSD-Ghana stands ready to fully participate in this protest and asks other democracy lovers to join us to mount enough pressure on the Electoral Commis

African King King Oba Adefunmi II Stabbed To Death By Her 52 Years Old Sister

Oba Adegbolu Abiogemo Adejuyigbe Egunjobi Oyewole Adefunmi, II, the king of Oyotunji African Village has died.  The 47-year-old was pronounced dead at Beaufort Memorial Hospital from multiple stab wounds. Adefunmi’s sister, 52-year-old Akiba Kasale Meredith, is charged with his murder, according to to the Beaufort County Sheriffs office . “On Monday, July 29, 2024, at about 2:45 p.m., the Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office Communications Center received a report of a stabbing at the Oyotunji African Village located on Bryant Lane in Sheldon. Deputies found a 47-year-old male victim who was transported by Beaufort County EMS to an area hospital. The victim died as a result of his injuries.”  Meredith left the area on foot. She was later arrested after she was found walking back towards the scene. Police are investigating the events that led to the incident.  Adefumni Adefunmi was recognized as an “Oba” which translates to “ruler” in the Yoruba language. He became king of Oyotunji Village

Justice For Wyllbee: Court Denies Nana Yaa And Others Bail In Connection With Murder Of Musician Wyllbee

The Akropong District Court has this morning denied Nana Yaa and some others bail for their various roles in the murder of Nana Yaw aka Wyllbee. Sowutouwm-based musician Wyllbee a few weeks ago was beaten to his death at Tanoso in the Ashanti Region after he was mistaken for a thief. Earlier it was stated that he had allegedly visited Nana Yaa whom sources claim was his girlfriend at her home without knowing that his girlfriend was already a married woman and her house was her matrimonial home. It’s said that when Nana Yaw was caught and mistaken for a criminal, Nana Yaa, his alleged girlfriend denied ever knowing him when he pointed to her saying he came to visit her. After the issue came out to the public, many people called for the arrest of the said girlfriend Nana Yaa. She was picked up and remanded in police custody. Well, today she made an appearance in court and the court has once again denied her bail and remanded her into police custody. At the court, it was revealed that one

JUST IN: Akufo-Addo extends Auditor-General’s Appointment

Akufo-Addo the president of Ghana has extends Auditor-General’s appointment Auditor-General Johnson Akuamoah Asiedu will spend two more years in office as his contract has been extended by President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo. Mr. Asiedu was due for statutory retirement on August 1, 2024. A notice dated June 19 from the Audit Service congratulated Mr. Asiedu on the extension. “I wish to bring to the information of all staff that His Excellency the President of the Republic of Ghana, has extended the tenure of the office of the Auditor General, Mr. Johnson Akuamoah Asiedu for the next two years,” the notice read. Just In : Asantehene Otumfuo To Pay A Royal Visit To The Ga State

The Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II is expected to visit the Ga State on Sunday, June 9, 2024. The visit will be rounded off with a special durbar to be hosted by the Ga Mantse, King Tackie Teiko Tsuru II at the forecourt of his palace. The Asantehene’s upcoming visit comes on the back of the Ga Mantse’s attendance to 25th-anniversary celebration of the former’s 25th anniversary celebration of his ascension to the throne, and also his 74th birthday celebration. A senior member of the planning committee, Nii Boye Abbey gave the details of the event at a press conference. “The Office of the Ga Mantse King Tackie Teiko Tsuru II and the Ga traditional council wish to announce the special visit of the Asantehene Otumfuo Osei Tutu II to the Ga State on Sunday, June 9, 2024. “The visit will be crowned with a special durbar hosted by King Tackie Teiko Tsuru II the Ga Mantse. It is a historic visit and it will rekindle the strong ties of friendship between the Gas and the Ashantis.”

JUST IN : Lil Win Granted A Bail Of Ghc 50,000

Actor Kwadwo Nkansah popularly known as Lil Win has been granted GH¢50,000 bail with two sureties by the Asokore Mampong District Court after he was arrested on Monday, June 3. The actor was arrested by officers from the Motor Traffic and Transport Department of the Manhyia Divisional Command moments after he was discharged from the hospital. His arrest is in connection with a recent accident involving a vehicle being driven by the actor which resulted in the death of a three-year-old boy. The family of the three-year-old boy intensified calls for justice after the death of their relative, but police said delays in the arrest of Lil Win was due to his health condition. Lil Win has been charged with Dangerous driving and negligently causing harm. The prosecution told the court they were still investigating the matter and insisted the accused should avail himself wherever he was needed. Police at the Motor Traffic and Transport Department (MTTD) of the Manhyia Divisional Police Command have arrested movie actor Kwadwo Nkansah, popularly known as Lil Win, shortly after he was discharged from the hospital. His arrest is linked to a recent accident involving a vehicle he was driving, which resulted in the death of a three-year-old boy. The family of the deceased intensified calls for justice following the tragic incident. The police cited delays in Lil Win’s arrest due to his health condition. A police vehicle was stationed at the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital, and he was taken into custody immediately after being discharged by medical personnel. Although the police have not provided further details, the actor was transported to the Manhyia Divisional Police Command of the MTTD as investigations into the incident continue.
