Galamsey Menace: GRASAG to Join Catholic Bishops in Protest Against Galamsey on October 11

The Graduate Students' Association of Ghana (GRASAG) has announced its intention to join forces with the Ghana Catholic Bishops' Conference in a nationwide protest against illegal mining activities, commonly known as galamsey, and what they describe as worsening governance in the country. The protest, scheduled for October 11, 2024, is expected to draw significant attention to the environmental degradation caused by galamsey and the perceived lapses in leadership in addressing the issue. The Catholic Bishops have been vocal in their criticisms of illegal mining, which has devastated large portions of Ghana’s forests, farmlands, and water bodies. They argue that despite various government initiatives to combat galamsey, the issue persists, posing a serious threat to the environment and livelihoods across the country. Team Eternity Ghana Mourns the Loss of Beloved Member Nhyira Marfo

Ghanaian gospel music group Team Eternity Ghana has been plunged into mourning following the sudden passing of one of its cherished members, Nhyira Marfo. 

The group announced the heartbreaking news through a statement shared on their official Facebook page on Wednesday, August 7, 2024.

Team Eternity Ghana quoted the Bible verse 2 Timothy 4:7, which reflects Nhyira's dedication to her faith and her life's journey: “I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith." The statement highlighted the profound grief and heartbreak felt by the group, as they grapple with the loss of their "friend and sister."

Despite their sorrow, the group expressed a deep sense of trust in God's wisdom and comfort, drawing strength from the divine promise of eternal presence, as found in Matthew 28:20: "..surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age."

Team Eternity Ghana also extended a request to the public, asking for prayers and support for Nhyira Marfo's family during this difficult time. 

They expressed their gratitude for the continued love and support from their fans and the larger gospel music community.

The passing of Nhyira Marfo marks a significant loss for Team Eternity Ghana and the entire Ghanaian gospel music scene. 

Her contributions to the group's ministry and her impact on those who knew her will be fondly remembered.
